First United Methodist Church of Azle believes in discipline the children in our care with hands-on experiences that help us to see, hear, touch, and feel the scriptures in order to bring them to life.
Nursery Ministry
A Nursery is provided for the younger members of our church family, infant – age 4 on Sunday morning for and many weekday events.
The nursery is located in the educational wing of the building and features an area specifically equipped for both infants and toddlers.
Our ministry staff is experienced in childcare and constantly strive to ensure that your children have the best possible experience during their time with us.
When you leave your young one with us, you leave with a nursery pager to give you additional peace of mind that if your child needs you, we have an immediate way of contacting you anywhere on our campus.
FirstKidz Sunday School
Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. with FirstKidz Praise. Developmentally designed classes are held on the lower floor of the Educational building in the Cornerstone Learning Zone. They offer a variety of opportunities for Bible study, fellowship, prayer and service activities that complement the efforts of parents and help to nurture the growth of children as Christian Disciples. We have three levels of children's classes offered as follows:
- First WeeKidz – Pre-K 3 (potty-trained) through Kindergarten
- Rising Starz– 1st – 3rd grades
- Mid-Kidz – 4th – 6th grades
We help equip children to live out their faith by adapting Bible stories to our everyday lives.
Children's Church
Each Sunday, children in first grade and younger have a unique opportunity to participate in worship in their own special way. WeeKidz Church is held each Sunday in conjunction with the 8:30 and 11:00 worship gatherings and meets in
room 108 (next to the Nursery).
The children enjoy their own special time in the 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. worship services during the “Children’s Time.” After this time in the worship service, an adult leader will guide the children to the Cornerstone Learning
Zone in the lower level of the Education Building.
First Kidz in Mission
The People of Christ are called to serve others in Jesus' name.
First Kidz have hands-on mission projects throughout the year as a way of expressing their love for God. Mission projects include working at the Community Caring Center, helping our neighbors with age appropriate projects,
and helping around the church. Special mission camps for children are offered during the year for various age groups.
First Kidz Discipleship Classes
FirstKidz discipleship classes are held on Wednesday evenings for children in Pre-K4 to Sixth Grade. Children learn biblical truths about God and his love for each of us. Kidz enjoy sharing spiritual prayer practices together. We integrate
fun and fellowship into our hands-on learning – truly becoming the Body of Christ!
Three Classes Meet Every Wednesday (During the School Year) - 6:15 - 7:15 pm in the Cornerstone Learning Zone:
- Pre-K 4, and Kindergarten Class
- First, Second, and Third Grade Class
- Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Grade Class
